Would you like to develop your ability to think critically?
Do you want to use mathematical reasoning in solving real-life problems?
If so, the Mathematics major at Mount Union College may be for you!
At Mount Union, students majoring in Math develop the ability to think critically and use mathematical reasoning in everyday life. Students will be introduced to a number of interesting and useful ideas in preparation for a number of career opportunities in business, government and industry.
Teaching is also an option math graduates have for a career field, while some have continued their education in graduate school, others are employed as actuaries or executives in major business firms throughout the country.
Math majors have the option to concentrate in statistics taking classes such as elementary statistics, mathematical statistics I and II, and advanced quantitative tools for business and economics.
Students can join organizations such as Pi Mu Epsilon honorary and the Mathematics Club.
Experiential learning options that will allow students to put classroom knowledge into practice include internships, cooperative education programs, field trips, mathematical and statistics conferences, specialized courses, seminars, guest lecturers, and classroom speakers.
