"I feel that reaching out into the community builds life-long memories and
allows students like myself to be exposed to different atmospheres in
society." --Kevin Bertleff, Sophmore
The service-learning program at Mount Union College gives its students the opportunity to work one-on-one within the Alliance community. This integrated program combines community service with course curriculum. In return, the students build strong partnerships with local and national service agencies and organizations. From this experience, they gain leadership skills and become a more well rounded individual.
Mount Union students who participate in service can choose from a variety of organizations and agencies. Areas of concentration include animals, the elderly, children's services, fine arts, family services, medical and sports and recreation.
The Department of Economics, Accounting, and Business Administration understands the importance of community involvement and service and have incorporated service learning initiatives in areas of their course curriculum.
