I. Athletic Training Rooms
- McPherson Building: This is the location of our main Athletic Training Room. This Athletic Training Room accommodates a large number of athletes and is equipped with state of the art technology. There is a main office used by staff and students for record keeping and internet information access. The hydrotherapy room has two full size whirlpools, cryocuffs, and equipment used for aquatic therapy. The main treatment area is furnished with taping tables, liberal counter space, as well as padded examination tables. The Athletic Training facility has ample therapeutic modalities including several electric stimulation/ultrasound machines, an EMG biofeedback unit, a lumbar/cervical traction machine, paraffin bath, and a hydrocollator unit. Among the rehabilitation equipment in the facility includes a Treadmill, Stairmaster, Upper Body Ergometer, Schwinn Air-Dyne stationary bicycle, an Impulse-Inertial Exerciser, free weights, and a variety of devices used for training coordination following injury.
- Waber-Harter Building: This building is adjacent to the football and outdoor track stadium and serves as a convenient location for preparing athletes immediately prior to practices and competitions. The Wble-Harter Athletic Training Room is furnished with several tables and cabinets storing taping and first aid supplies.
- Stadium: This Athletic Training Facility is adjacent to the soccer team locker room and is used as a satellite facility for the soccer athletes. It is also used as a visiting football team taping room. It is equipped with a whirlpool, ultrasound/stim combination unit and a hydrocollator unit.
II. Athletic Training / Exercise Science Laboratory
- Equipment: The AT/ES Laboratory has numerous teaching models and skeletons. There are two Monarch Bicycle Ergometers, a PC regulated treadmill, an electronic spirometer for assessing oxygen use during exercise, and a state of the art electrocardiogram (ECG: used for cardiac assessment). The facility also possesses a surface electromyogram (EMG: used for muscle assessment) and equipment for shooting and digitizing video for movement analysis.
III. Conditioning Facilities
- Gulling Training Center: This state-of-the-art fitness facility houses numerous free weights, plate loaded machines, and platforms for power lifting. It also features an artificial surface area for physical activities. This room is reserved exclusively for athletics.
- McPherson Weight Room: This weight room is the most recent addition to Mount Union College. It houses a number of tract machines, plate loaded machines, and dumbbells racks. This room is available to the general campus.
