A major in biochemistry opens the doors to many opportunities for students at Mount Union College.

Beneath the surface of every living thing is a well-tuned machine with chemical reactions taking place, enabling life. Students will explore the inner workings that take place within an organism, while gaining skills and knowledge that will help them gain positions of leadership within the field.

Whether one of the various careers in the field of biochemistry, education, research, pharmaceuticals or forensic investigation is what you're looking for, majoring in biochemistry at the College will provide students with important skills that will lead to successful careers or further education upon graduation.

The department of chemistry has three main goals: 1) Apply chemical principles to biological systems; 2) Build logic and reasoning skills; 3) Prepare for a challenging career in a growing field.
