The Cognitive and behavioral neuroscience major is designed to provide students with the background, technical skills and hands-on research experience that will allow them to continue on to graduate school or compete for neuroscience-related jobs in both the private and public sectors.

The program will provide students with a solid core curriculum, along with the flexibility to tailor coursework to meet their individual objectives. The major will include many outside opportunities including an independent research projects, participation in a behavioral neuroscience research seminars, and attendance/participation at regional or national research conferences.

Cognitive and behavioral neuroscience is not just for biology or psychology majors.

The Department of Psychology's approach to the major is one of supporting academic excellence within the liberal arts context. Computer science majors who are interested in artificial intelligence or art majors who are interested in the visual arts can take neuroscience to see things in a different perspective.
