Pre-Engineering

At Mount Union, students join an elite pre-engineering program that is unusually desirable because the engineering specialization is augmented with a background in the liberal arts, which is considered a time-proven excellence in education. Mount Union College combines with the carefully constructed curriculum of the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Engineering and Applied Science. Successful completion of the program results in the awarding of the prestigious master of science degree in engineering and the chance to study and prepare for careers in a number of innovative and challenging fields. These include:

• Bioengineering
• Chemical, electrical, mechanical or systems engineering
• Computer and information science

Undergraduate Program
Students in the pre-engineering program follow a curriculum carefully worked out by the student and advisors at both Mount Union and the University of Pennsylvania. Spending four years at Mount Union, they have the chance to major in one of the following programs:

• Physics and astronomy
• Chemistry
• Geology
• Mathematics
• Computer science

Graduate Program
Exceptional performance at Mount Union is required for entrance into the University of Pennsylvania's graduate program. Depending on the area of specialization, a master of science in engineering degree is awarded within one or two years. This degree carries considerable prestige in the engineering field and will prepare you for a career in engineering or further study for a doctoral degree.
