Ronald "Eric" Matthews, Jr.
Dr. Matthews holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in education, a masters of science degree from the University of Kentucky in administration and supervision, and a doctoral degree from Kent State University in political science. He was selected as a finalist for the National Teacher of the Year and has authored more than 30+ grants totaling more than $3 million dollars. He has worked for the University of Kentucky, North Carolina State University and various governmental entities in the state of Ohio as an educator and consultant. Dr. Matthews has presented conference papers at the American Political Science Conference, the Midwest Political Science Conference, the Northeast Political Science Conference and the Canadian Political Science Conference. He has received research grants from the Lily Foundation, Kent State Graduate Student Senate and the State of Ohio. His research interests include religion and politics, public service, civic engagement, trust issues, and qualitative analysis. He will be featured in the 2007 edition of Church and State Politics addressing the debate among religious groups and stem-cell research.
William Cunion
Dr. Cunion earned a bachelor of arts degree from Xavier University, a master of arts degree from Ohio University and a doctoral degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He teaches courses in American government and statistical methods and has directed numerous internships at all levels of government. He has published articles on the Kennedy and Clinton presidencies and most recently contributed to In the Public Domain: Presidents and the Challenges of Public Leadership.
