Available to majors in political science, a concentration in public service will allow students to develop the training, skills and experience essential to effective public sector employment at the state and national level. Courses extend beyond the classroom walls and will allow you to observe where your career may lead.

Part of the Center for Public Service and administered by the Department of Political Science, the minor in public service emphasizes an applied approach to political, policy, economic, legal and communication issues, all while preparing you for career success.

Students completing a concentration in public service will fulfill the following course requirements:

PS 100 Introduction to Public Service
PS 110 American State and Local Government
PS 200 Public Personnel Management
PS 260 Public Budgeting
