The Department of Sociology at Mount Union College will provide students with the basic skills to excel in the areas of human behavior, developing sensitivity to international and intercultural issues, and enhancing their understanding of cultural heritage. Not only does the mastery of the techniques of sociological inquiry help to develop well-rounded individuals, but it also builds great career potential. It allows individuals to make informed and objective choices when faced with life challenging conditions. Thus, not only are students prepared for life, but students will have received marketable skills that a variety of employers and graduate programs look for.

Do any of these career paths pique your interests? If so, a sociology major at Mount Union may be right for. The major requires 36 semester hours of department courses and a minor requires 15 semester hours in the department. The Department of Sociology also offers a concentration in criminal justice.
