Lorie MillerLorie J. Miller was named director of the Dowling Mentor Program in 1991, the first full time director since the program's creation in 1985.
Miller is the former owner and administrator of The Children's Village where she worked from 1983-89. She attended Kent State University and Malone College, and has completed a number of courses in child development, child abuse and parent education. She received her bachelor's degree in human resource management at Mount Union College in 2003.

She serves on the board of the Robert T. White School of Practical Nursing, Ultimate Beginnings-Girls Group Home and as chairperson for the board of the Adult Career Training Assistance Program. She is also a member of the Alliance Woman's Club, YMCA Partnering with Youth Campaign and YWCA.

She is the wife of Jeffery D. Miller and has three children, Jessica (03), Benjamin and Rich Miller.
