Mount Union College has entered into an agreement with LRG (Licensing Resource Group), licensing all of its trademarked logos and word marks. Our trademark licensing program was formed to assist in the protection of all Mount Union trademarks, ensuring that the correct marks are used prior to manufacturing. In addition, this program is in place to help extend the market presence of Mount Union College locally, regionally and nationally.

Below you will find guidelines to follow to ensure that everyone fully understands the Mount Union College trademark licensing program:

1. Production Information

  • Any products manufactured with the Mount Union College trademark on it, either for sale or not for resale, must be by an officially licensed vendor. This includes apparel and give away item such as mugs, magnets, key chains, pencils and pens, bags, etc. (Printed publications such as banners, brochures, flyers, letterhead and envelopes, posters, invitations, etc. are not included in the licensing program.)
  • The only apparel items exempt from using licensed vendors are uniform manufactures.
  • A listing of all officially licensed vendors for Mount Union College can be found at www.lrgusa.com. Click on Resources, then Licensed Vendors. You may then search for Mount Union College. Once you have found our entry, click on view. The system will then generate a report which may take a minute or two.

2. Application Information

  • Any company wishing to get licensed may visit the LRG website at www.lrgusa.com and print off an application.
  • Pricing and royalty information is included in the application
  • It normally takes 2-4 weeks to complete the entire licensing process.

3. Artwork/Logo Information

  • All Mount Union College trademarks will be placed on LRG's trademark site, www.trademarxonline.com. However, only officially licensed vendors will have access to download and view the trademarks.
  • Prior to manufacturing, the Mount Union College Office of Public Affairs and Marketing views all artwork that is submitted by the licensee. This is to ensure proper use of the marks.

4. Enforcement of the Program

  • LRG will shop the local, regional and national marketplace to ensure than anyone who is producing Mount Union College products is an officially licensed vendor.

LRG has begun contacting local vendors asking them to join the program. If you work with a company or companies that are not currently licensed, please e-mail Melissa Smith at smithmef@muc.edu with the names of those vendors or encourage your vendors to visit www.lrgusa.com to begin the licensing process.

Please note we have extended invitations to nearly 50 businesses to become licensed vendors. Many have completed the process and we are working with others to get them started.
