Job Title: YWCA Program Aide

Responsibilities:
This position requires an individual that will interact positively with clients, members, school personnel, and staff from diverse backgrounds. The individual will assist with YWCA programming (tasks to be assigned at the beginning of the semester from the areas listed below; assignment to align with agency needs and student input).
- Assist in the planning and implementation of a middle school girls’ group held over the lunch hour (onsite 12:00 – 1:15) most Wednesdays at middle school
- Assist with other youth activities
- Write brief monthly newsletter for senior clients
- Write publicity releases and assist with quarterly agency newsletter
- Perform receptionist and clerical tasks including inputting data
- Perform other duties, as agreed upon
Qualifications:
- Areas of study preferred (not limited to) education, sociology, gender studies, and/or health
- Own transportation to worksites
- Pass a fingerprint/background check
- Positive attitude; role model positive behavior for clients, especially youth
- Ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds; non-judgmental
- Ability to plan and implement youth activities
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Basic computer skills (primarily Word and Excel)
- Reliable
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Average hours per week:
7 per week; prefer individual available on Wednesdays between 12:00 – 1:15 PM; additional days & times to be determined by mutual agreement
