International applicants for admission shall provide evidence of one of the following College approved English language proficiency requirements.
A Student whose TOEFL score falls between:
450 and 547 (paper based test - PB)
110 and 210 (computer based - CB)
39 and 78 (Internet based - IB)
- Will be eligible for a conditional admission to the College. This means, students granted admission with a TOEFL score falling within these parameters will be required to enroll in one or two credit bearing English As a Second Language (ESL) courses at Mount Union on a part-time basis. These students will also be allowed to choose one or two courses from the traditional college curriculum thus making progress towards graduation.
A Student whose TOEFL score is equal to or above:
550 (PB), 213 (CB) or 79 (IB)
- Will not be required to take Mount Union's English as a Second Language Courses
*Students in this category however may still choose to take ESL courses
A Student whose IELTS score is 4.5, 5.0 or 5.5
- Will be eligible for a conditional admission to the College. This means, students granted admission with a IELTS score falling within these parameters will be required to enroll in one or two credit bearing English As a Second Language (ESL) courses at Mount Union on a part-time basis. These students will also be allowed to choose one or two courses from the traditional college curriculum thus making progress towards graduation.
A Student whose IELTS score is equal to or above 6.0
- Will not be required to take Mount Union's English as a Second Language Courses
*Students in this category however may still choose to take ESL courses
A Student who has completed the ELS LanguageCenter level 109, 110 or 111
- Will be eligible for a conditional admission to the College. This means, students granted admission with a ELS Language Center Level falling within these parameters will be required to enroll in one or two credit bearing English As a Second Language (ESL) courses at Mount Union on a part-time basis. These students will also be allowed to choose one or two courses from the traditional college curriculum thus making progress towards graduation.
- ELS student who have not yet completed at least ELS 109 but who otherwise meet all MountUnion requirements for admission will be offered a Conditional Letter of Acceptance, which indicates that upon successful completion of at least ELS level 109, the student will be offered a full conditional admission to MountUnion.
Students who have completed ELS level 112 and above
- Will not be required to take Mount Union's English as a Second Language Courses
*Students in this category however may still choose to take ESL courses
