This page explains the International Student Application process for Mount Union College. All international students and U.S. citizens currently residing outside of the United States are required to complete the following process.
  • On-line Application (The online application will be sent electronically to Mount Union after you click the SUBMIT button.)

  • Please click here to download the International Student Paper Application Form
  • There is no application fee.
  • Complete our online International Student Application for Admissions. All items must be completed. Please add N/A when an item is not applicable. The application will not be considered without the essay being completed at the end of the form or submitted via a seperate document. If the online essay section is not completed, we will assume the applicant will submit the essay via postal service.
  • Submit certified English translations of your official academic records from all secondary school level coursework. If you have enrolled in courses at a level beyond secondary school, you will need to submit those official English language grade transcripts as well.
  • Language Assessment. Please submit a score from ONE of the following: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL - Mount Union's code is 1492), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
    OR
    certification that you have completed at least level 109 from the ELS Languages Centers curriculum. 
  • Teacher Reference Form - You may use this page or a teacher may submit a seperate letter styled in their choosing. If you choose to use our form, print the form and ask one of your instructors at your most recently attended institution to complete it and return it directly to the Office of International Admission at Mount Union. You may submit more that one Teacher Reference Form if you feel it is necessary (This is a PDF file and you will need Adobe Reader to access this file. You can download a free copy of Adobe Reader here). 
  • Financial Statement - Mount Union College and the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) require certification of adequate financial support from international student applicants. Such a statement must be on file before admission will be considered. United States visa regulations require that admission be based upon academic acceptance and satisfactory evidence of adequate funds to meet all of the expenses incurred in the student's proposed program of study. Please submit an official letter from a bank official showing specific dollar or local currency amounts availiable for your educational use or three months of bank statements verifying availability of funds. All documents must have original signatures and can be sources such as: bank statement, signed by an official, stating the exact amount of funds available; affidavit of support signed by the guarantor and showing the exact amount of support to be provided; copy of scholarship or government award letter; loan agreement or other document signed by the responsible official and showing the exact amount of funds available.
  • If you are applying for need based financial aid, please click the International Student Financial Aid Application, complete it to the best of your ability, sign and mail the application to the Office of International Admission at the address listed below. This form is also available from the Office of International Admission, from the College Board or from some guidance counselors. This is an optional form which does not take the place of the Financial Support Certification. According to Mount Union College policy, financial aid is available only to those students who do not already hold an undergraduate degree.
  • Recent photo.

 

An official admissions decision will be made two to three weeks after ALL documents are submitted. Only original or certified copies of documents are acceptable. Simple photo-copies, faxes or emailed documents will not be accepted. Calculations for financial assistance begins the last week of February.
