SESSIONS


Session I:

Dates: Monday - Wednesday, June 9 – 11, 2008
Check In: Noon on 6/9 Timken Physical Education Building
Camp Begins: 2 p.m. on 6/9
Camp Ends: 4 p.m. on 6/11


Session II:

Dates: Thursday - Saturday, June 12 – 14, 2008
Check In: Noon on 6/12 Timken Physical Education Building
Camp Begins: 2 p.m. on 6/12
Camp Ends: 4 p.m. on 6/14


Session III:

Dates: Monday - Wednesday, June 16 – 18, 2008
Check In: Noon on 6/16 Timken Physical Education Building
Camp Begins: 2 p.m. on 6/16
Camp Ends: 4 p.m. on 6/18


TUITION

Overnight: $235.00 includes lodging, meals, and camp T-shirt

Commuter: $160.00 includes lunches, dinners, and camp T-shirt

CAMP ELIGIBILITY

The camps are open to all football players entering grades 6 through 12. Campers will be divided into instruction groups and 7-on-7teams based on age and skill level.


HOUSING

Athletes will be housed in campus residence halls, two to a room. Please indicate on your application form if you have a roommate preference. Younger campers will be housed together.


MEALS

Meals for all camp sessions will be held in the Hoover Price Campus Center. The dining hall is all-you-can-eat. Meals for all sessions will begin with dinner on the first day and conclude with lunch on the final day.


WHAT TO BRING

  • Athletic clothing (shorts, T-shirts, socks, etc.)
  • Molded cleats or turf shoes and tennis shoes. No metal tipped cleats.
  • Quarterbacks, running backs, or receivers bring a football marked with name or school.
  • Bed linens, pillow, blankets, and fan.
  • Towels and toiletries.
  • Money to purchase sports drinks and pizza in the evenings (optional).


CAMP SCHEDULE

  • 8 a.m. Breakfast
  • 9 a.m. Morning Instruction

  • 6 p.m. 7 on 7 Games / Recreation
  • 9:30 p.m. Highlight Tape
  • 11 p.m. Lights Out


CAMP FEATURES

  • All camp activities will take place on beautiful 115-acre Mount Union College campus located on Route 62 in Alliance, Ohio.
  • Each position will emphasize the techniques and drills of that position with the Mount Union position coach. A major draw of the camp is the opportunity for one-on-one instruction.
  • Camp practice sessions will be conducted twice per day and take place on the Mount Union Stadium Astro-play surface or the well-manicured football practice fields.
  • Camps will also utilize the state-of-the-art Gulling Training Center, utilized by Mount Union student-athletes for daily strength and flexibility instruction and training.
  • Campers will be tested in a 40 yard dash, agility drill, and bench press as well as have their heights and weights measured.
  • Athletes will have the opportunity to compete in daily 7-on-7 passing scrimmages. Skill players from the same school can compete on the same team.
  • An evening program will feature a highlight tape. Campers may purchase pizza and sports drinks from the concession stand.

CAMP STAFF

The camp staff will feature Larry Kehres and the Mount Union coaches aided by guest college and high school coaches. Current Mount Union football players will serve as counselors. Larry Kehres recently completed his 22nd year at the helm of the Purple Raider football team, and has built one of the most successful programs in all of college football. His teams have won 18 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships while posting 16 undefeated regular seasons. Under Kehres, the Raiders have won nine Division III National Championships in the last 15 years including back-to-back titles in ’05 and ’06. Since 1990, the Raiders have made 17 playoff appearances while posting the most wins and best winning percentage in all of college football (230-11-1/ .956). The camp staff consists of the Mount Union coaches with current Mount Union football players serving as counselors.
