Mount Union Track Teams Compete at 2nd Annual Gator Invitational

Mount Union College's track teams competed at the nonscored Second Annual Gator Invitational hosted by Allegheny College in Allegheny, PA on Friday, May 9.

Individually on the men's side, Mike Lemponen (Eastlake/North) won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 53.73. Senior Dan Gund (Madison) won the shot put with a throw of 17.61 meters and was fourth in the discus (48.16 m). Matt Dawson (Painesville/Riverside) was second in the shot put (16.69 m), Judd Lutz (Bloomville/Columbian) was fourth in the shot (16.40 m) and seventh in the discus (47.02 m), Pat Nicholson (Brookpark/Holy Name) was third in the discus (48.39 m) and Jaime Simpson (Hilliard/Bishop Ready) was sixth in the discus with a throw of 47.11 meters.

On the women's side, Aubrey Loy (Canal Fulton/Jackson) placed fifth in the long jump with a jump of 5.06 meters and Annie Patton (Darlington/Blackhawk) finished second in the javelin with a throw of 41.97 meters.

Next up for Mount Union is the Wilmington Invitational on May 17-18 and the NCAA Division III Nationals in Oshkosh, Wisc. on May 22-24.
