# 13 Raiders Drop Twinbill To Nemisis Muskingum

Meghan SimonsMount Union College's softball team (25-5 8-2 OAC)dropped two games to Muskingum College (25-5, 12-0 OAC) on Tuesday, April 15.  The Muskies took game one 7-2 and the second 9-1.

In game one Muskingum outslugged Mount Union with seven runs on seven runs compared to the Raiders two runs on four hits. 

Individually the Raiders were led by Meghan Simons who was 1-3, including her third homerun of the season, Lee Negrelli, Lindsey Royer, and ALex Lucak each singled in the contest.  On the mound, Royer took her third loss of the season, allowing four earned runs over seven innings, with three strikeouts.

Muskingum was led by Mary Margaret Boda, who was 2-4 with an RBI, Heather Fields and Kelli Mann each homered.  Pitcher Amy Mattin earned the win for Muskingum.

In the second game, Muskingum's offense was again too much for the Purple and White.  The Muskies scored nine times on 12 hits. 

Mount Union was led by Simons, who was 2-3 with an RBI, Meghan Allen went 2-4, and Anna Horning who was 2-3.  Starting pitcher Devon Butler took the loss and is now 5-1 on the year.

Muskingum's Boda again had a hot bat, going 3-4 with two RBI and three runs scored.  In the circle, Mattin pitched a complete to improve 17-3 on the year.

Mount Union next travels to Wilmington on Wednesday, April 16.  Game one of the doubleheader is slated for 3:30 p.m.
