Raider Softball Team Splits Two in Florida

Mount Union College's softball team (3-1) fell 15-8 to Marian (IN) before rallying to defeat Transylvania (KY) 3-2 on Monday evening, March 10 in Kissimmee, Fl.

In the first game against Marian, Mount Union was plagued by defensive misques allowing 15 runs on 20 and 10 errors.  Losing Pitcher Lindsey Royer lasted five innings while fanning two batters.  Kellie Schmucker pitched in relief.

Offensively, the Purple Raiders were led by Anna Horning who went 3-5 with a double, Erin Duignan was 2-4 with two RBI and a double and Megan Polifrone was 3-3.

In the nightcap, Mount Union rallied for three runs in the seventh inning to earn a 3-2 win over Transylvania (KY).

Mount Union's Devon Butler took the mound and pitched four solid inning while Lindsey Royer came on in relief to earn her second win of the season.

On the offensive side, the Purple Raiders were led by Lee Negrelli whow was 2-4, Meghan Allen was 3-4 with a triple and Katie Olive was 2-2.
