Lee Hood Hood, who has amassed a 216-204 mark in his 16 years at the helm, earned Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and Ohio Collegiate Coach of the Year honors in 1997 – both firsts for a Mount Union men’s basketball coach. The Raiders won both the conference regular season and tournament crowns during the 1996-97 season, as well as earning the school's first-ever trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Purple Raiders have posted nine seasons of .500 basketball or better over the past 13 years under Hood, including three 18-win seasons and a school-best 25 wins in 1996-97. Giving maximum effort and getting results is nothing new for Hood. As a four-year letterman at point-guard for Ohio Northern University, he earned a reputation for being a smart, gritty player who made others around him better. While at Northern, Hood was a key member of two OAC championship teams. A native of Berea, Ohio, Hood graduated from Ada High School in 1978, earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Ohio Northern University in 1982 and a master’s degree in education from Austin Peay State University in 1983. Hood spent time as an assistant at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Newbury College, and Austin Peay before joining the Raider coaching staff in 1991 and becoming the College’s head coach in 1992.

Dan MacDuffie Dan MacDuffie is in his fifth season as an assistant men's basketball coach at Mount Union College. MacDuffie came to Mount Union from Hiram College where he served as an assistant men's basketball coach and an admissions counselor. The Portland, Maine, native earned a bachelor's degree in sport management from the University of Massachusetts in 2000 and went on to receive a master’s in history from Washington (MD) College in 2002. |

Issian Redding The Sandusky, Ohio, native played college basketball at South Plains Junior College in Levelland, Texas and at NCAA Division I Murray State (KY) University. He was a team captain for a conference and regional championship team at South Plains, then at Murray State he played for current University of Cincinnati head coach Mick Cronin and was a senior captain of a 2006 squad that won the Ohio Valley Conference and participated in the “big dance”, NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament. He has worked at basketball camps at Murray State and Cincinnati along with Adidas It Takes 5ive AAU elite tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio. He holds an associate’s degree from South Plains and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and sociology from Murray State. |
