Through the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs we will be having several events which celebrate Latin history, culture and food. Below is a list of activities, which all are encouraged to attend. This is a great way for students to come in contact with a new culture and experience.
A great opportunity to meet some familiar and unfamiliar faces and get to know them out of a classroom setting.
Different stations in the cafeteria will include family and friends of the College instructing on how to make wonderful Latin food dishes!
This year the festival will be bigger and better than in the years past, with more food, and more family and friends. This year it will also include a Mariachi Band. Come celebrate the culmination of Hispanic Heritage Month with us!
The movie, A Day without Mexicans, is a comical satire about all of the Hispanics leaving California and the economic downfall that becomes the state with their departure. Afterwards, there will be a question/answer session provided from faculty of Mount Union discussing the different issues that were brought up in the movie. This is a great opportunity to understand immigration issues, and also, since this is a hot topic for the election, it’s a perfect chance to start discussion and thought about immigration issues.
