Throughout the academic school year, our office hosts a series of
programs for Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, American
Indian History Month, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month as well as
help plan the activities for the annual Martin Luther King, Jr.
celebration. We also sponsor a one day pre-orientation program
(Kaleidoscope) for our incoming minority and/or students of color in
the fall and a one-day Student Leadership Conference (Shades of
Success) in the spring for college-age students who are enrolled within
neighboring colleges and universities. Additionally our office provides
other programming as well, ranging anywhere from our Sexual Chocolate
program (a sexual awareness program), World Aids Day and our Hispanic
Food Festival (which is a day long celebration of Hispanic heritage,
culture and food) to more basic programs such as our movie nights,
history trivia games and open mic nights, to just name a few. All of
which are used to educate, stimulate awareness and thoughtfulness and
of course entertain our community of faculty, students and staff.
