The Community Educator (CE) is a live-in student staff member of the
Office of Residence Life. The Community Educator is responsible for
promoting a positive living and learning environment by advancing
community, academic excellence, diversity awareness, wellness, and
meaningful relationships.The Community Educator is responsible for assisting students individually and in groups. The Community Educator's primary role is to facilitate the creation of a positive environment on an assigned floor or house that supports students' academic and personal success. In order for this environment to develop, Community Educators must make significant connections with their residents, help residents know each other, and connect residents to the resources and opportunities of the campus community. Some strategies for success will include maintaining individual and group contact, possessing a thorough knowledge of campus resources, and responding to community and individual concern.
