The mission of Family Day at Mount Union College is to provide students and their families an opportunity to reconnect during the middle of the fall semester. A full day of events has been planned for Family Day this year, and we very much look forward to seeing you on November 1st!
9-11 a.m. - Check In and Ticket Pick Up - Main Lobby, Hoover-Price Campus Center
- Pick up your tickets for the day’s events! Don’t forget to enter our Family Day raffle and pick up a coupon for the bookstore as well!
9-10 a.m. - Breakfast with the Faculty and Staff - Campus Grounds, Hoover-Price Campus Center
- Do you want to get to know the people your students learn from and work with on a daily basis? Well this is your opportunity to get to meet and chat with the faculty and staff of Mount Union College over a cup of coffee and breakfast!
10 a.m. - Family Sessions - Various Classrooms, Chapman Hall
- Join us for these sessions covering a variety of topics designed to help you learn more about Mount Union College as well as your student and how to support him or her. These sessions will be approximately 45 minutes in length and will include:
- The History of Mount Union College
Family members will have the opportunity to learn about the history and tradition of Mount Union College, giving them a glimpse into how it has become the successful institution it is today. - Supporting Your Student Through Finals and Beyond
That’s right. It is almost time for finals, and whether your student is in his or her first or fourth year at Mount Union College, he or she is undoubtedly stressing out about papers and tests and the end of the semester nears. This session will provide you with the information and tools you need to help your student not only make it through finals, but to be successful in them also! - How your student is growing and changing
Notice your student is a little different than when you left him or her here on move-in day? These kinds of changes are perfectly natural in college, and we are here to help you understand the ways in which your students might have already or soon will begin to change and develop and they move through their college career.
- Check out a great selection of new fall merchandise! Mount Union College “mom” and “dad” sweatshirts and t-shirts will also be available. Support you Purple Raiders in style, and be sure to use the coupon you’ll get in your check-in packet!
11 a.m.-1 p.m. - Legacy and Traditions - East Room, Hoover-Price Campus Center
- Smile and say Cheese. Legacy families drop in anytime between 11am to 1pm to enjoy the Alumni Office photo booth! Take fun family photos and take them with you that day. An informal lunch will also be provided during this time. Sponsored by the Office of Alumni and College Activities (alumni@muc.edu).
11:30 a.m. (begins) - Pre-Game Lunch - Kresge Court, Hoover-Price Campus Center
- Join other members of the Mount Union Community for an all-you-can-eat Pre-Game Lunch. This lunch will be included in the Family Day registration fee, and the tickets will be provided in the packet you will receive when you check in for Family Day!
