In order to produce a professional and error-free document for the funding agency, the Office of Stewardship and Grants needs enough lead time to review, edit, package, and submit the proposal in a timely manner.
The following describes the activities/services provided by the Office of Stewardship and Grants upon receipt of the final copy of the grant proposal:
- Review the final copy to ensure the request for proposal guidelines are followed
- Check for typographical and/or tabulation errors
- Tabulate budget and verify cash match availability as needed
- Consult with Project Director(s) to make changes if necessary
- Obtain all required signatures on proposal application, assurances, etc.
- Prepare a cover letter to accompany grant proposal
- Ensure completion of the External Grant Final Approval Form
- Photocopy proposal and cover letter
- Distribute copies internally
- Mail/ship/deliver proposal to funding source
- File copies of the proposal
- Record proposal application on the Advancement Office data base system
