In order to produce a professional and error-free document for the funding agency, the Office of Stewardship and Grants needs enough lead time to review, edit, package, and submit the proposal in a timely manner.

The following describes the activities/services provided by the Office of Stewardship and Grants upon receipt of the final copy of the grant proposal:

  • Review the final copy to ensure the request for proposal guidelines are followed
  • Check for typographical and/or tabulation errors
  • Tabulate budget and verify cash match availability as needed
  • Consult with Project Director(s) to make changes if necessary
  • Obtain all required signatures on proposal application, assurances, etc.
  • Prepare a cover letter to accompany grant proposal
  • Ensure completion of the External Grant Final Approval Form
  • Photocopy proposal and cover letter
  • Distribute copies internally
  • Mail/ship/deliver proposal to funding source
  • File copies of the proposal
  • Record proposal application on the Advancement Office data base system
