Guide to Cash Gifts and Pledges
Outright gifts are especially welcome because they can be used immediately to meet the College's current needs. If you are considering a Leadership gift, your gift may be made in one year or as a multi-year pledge given over a three to five year period. All such gifts are tax deductible and the actual deduction depends on individual circumstances of the gift.
Checks, Securities, EFTs, and Credit Cards
A number of donors decide to make gifts to Mount Union College in the form of checks, securities, electronic transfer of funds, or through credit card payment. Here's how!
Non-Cash Gifts
Mount Union College has been the grateful recipient of a wide range of non-cash gifts, also referred to as "gifts-in-kind." Gifts-in-kind refer to non-cash donations of materials or long-lived assets. Examples include land, equipment, computers, supplies, art, rare books, scholarly journals, and other tangible personal property. A gift-in-kind, however, does not include a gift of service. While most gifts-in-kind may be appropriate gifts to enhance a particular department or collection, the College may choose to sell a property and use the cash proceeds.
