The College has a policy that allows members of certain honor societies to wear insignia at Commencement. If you are a member of an honor society, but are unsure as to whether this applies to you, please contact the faculty advisor of your organization.
If you know that your organization qualifies, and you plan to wear your society's insignia, please note the following restrictions:
- Acceptable: any color of pins, ribbons, stoles, and medallions

Unacceptable: single color cords in the same colors as Mount Union College's Honors

Latin Honors
- Summa Cum Laude - gold
- Magna Cum Laude - silver
- Cum Laude - white

Honors in a Major
- red

Honors in Liberal Studies
- purple

Latin Honors

Unacceptable: insignia representing group membership of another kind.
- You may not wear sashes, cords, pins, ribbons, or other insignia representing membership in some group or organization that is not an approved honors society.
Again, if you aren't sure whether you are allowed to wear honors insignia, please discuss it with your organization's faculty advisor. If you are seen at commencement wearing restricted insignia, you may be asked to asked to surrender it, and the honor society advisor will be notified. The item will be returned after commencement
