Mount Union College has named Dr. Ronald W. Mendel, assistant professor of human performance and sport management, as the College's 2008 Great Teacher.

The Great Teacher Award was established in 1962 by the Mount Union College Alumni Association. You are entitled and encouraged as a senior to make your nomination for the Great Teacher Award to recognize the faculty member you deem outstanding. The nomination form can be submitted online by clicking on the link to your left. You must submit a statement in order to have your nomination considered by the Selection Committee. In order to receive full consideration, your statement should be thorough, well-crafted and fully explanatory. The nomination statements will have a significant bearing on the final selection.
To be eligible for the Great Teacher Award, a faculty member must have the rank of instructor or above, must have taught at least one course during the academic year and must not have been picked the Great Teacher within the past five years. According to the award criteria, "excellence implies the ability of the professor to stimulate a student into a greater knowledge and understanding of the subject matter."
***Only current Seniors who will be graduating in May 2008 are eligible to nominate a Teacher for this award, all other submissions will be obmitted. Student must identify themselves on the nomination form if they would like their nomination considered.
