Mount Baseball Team Splits with Mount St. Joseph

Mount Union College's baseball team split a doubleheader with Mount St. Joseph to conclude is annual spring trip to florida on Saturday, March 15. The Purple Raiders won the opener 11-3 but lost the nightcap 15-11.
The Purple Raiders finished their spring trip with a 6-4 overall record.
In the opener, Mount Union Pitcher Erik Miller pitched five strong innings while striking out four batters to earn the win.
At the plate, outfielder Grant Sevek went 3-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Designated hitter Andy Warner finished 2-4 with two RBI and a run, first baseman Cory Slabaugh went 3-4 with a double and an RBI.
The Raiders scored 11 runs on 12 hits with one error while Mount St. Joseph scored three times on 10 hits and two errors.

In the second game, Mount Union's Greg Ferrell, Nate McFarland and Andy Warner each homered in the loss. Ferrell finished 2-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.
On the mound, Kyle Moles took the loss in relief. Raider starter Joe Irwin surrendered five runs in four innings of work while fanning seven batters.
The Purple and White scored 11 runs on 10 hits and no errors compared to 15 runs on 19 hits and three errors for Mount St. Joseph.
