Switzer Earns All-OAC Honors

Mount Union junior/guard Chris Switzer (Stow) earned 2007-08 Men’s Basketball All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Honorable-Mention status,  as announced by the Conference Office on Tuesday, March 4.

In 2007-08, Switzer led all Raiders in scoring with 17.1 ppg, good for fourth in the OAC.  Also, his .815 free-throw percentage and 2.24 three-point field goals made per game both ranked seventh in the OAC.  Switzer was also fifth in the Conference in minutes played, averaging 33.20 per contest. 

In addition, Switzer, who only played 14 games last year during an injury plagued sophomore season, currently has 945 career points.

On February 23, 2008, Chris tied a career-high with 29 points in a one point overtime loss at Ohio Northern. He led the Purple and White scoring attack in 12 different games this past season.

Joining Switzer on the Honorable-Mention team are Brian Schmidt (Heidelberg), Kyle Brown (Baldwin-Wallace), Adam Wells (Otterbein), Adam Rockhold (Marietta), Fred Harrison (Wilmington), Isaiah Creasap (Marietta), Kyle Meyer (Ohio Northern), and Jake Canaan (Ohio Northern).

Capital’s Damon Goodwin won the OAC’s Coach of the Year Award while his junior/wing Nate Stahl was the recipient of the Mike Gregory Player of the Year Award. Both awards are voted on by the league coaches.
