Mount Union Men's Cross Country Finishes 25th at Nationals
(HANOVER, IN)-- The Mount Union College men's cross country team placed 25th as a team at the NCAA Div. III National meet. There was a total of 32 teams competing at the event hosted by Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana.
Sophomore Ty Griffin (Massillon/Massillon Perry) led the Raiders with a 79th place finish overall (25:27). Rounding out the team scorers for Mount Union iclude senior Dustin Ford (Canton/Massillon Perry) in 105th (25:37), junior Dan Whisler (Ashland/Ashland) in 167th (25:59), senior Matt Dieterich (Brunswick/Padua Franciscan) in 175th (26:01), and junior Bryce Basista (North Ridgeville/Elyria Catholic) in 226th overall (26:25). 278 individuals competed from all across the nation.
Also competing at Nationals for the Purple Raiders were sophomore Scott Wolfe (East Palestine/East Palestine) with a time of 26:33 and Justin Meeson (Lakewood/Lakewood) with a time of 28:56.
This marks the end of a promising cross country season for Mount Union College.
