Mount Union senior wide receiver Pierre Garcon was the leading receiver for the Nation Squad and also returned a punt for a score in the “Texas vs. the Nation” Bowl on Saturday, February 2 in El Paso, Texas.

Garcon, who was the Nation’s starting wide receiver, recorded three catches for 23 yards to lead his team. He was matched up against defensive backs from the Big 12 Conference and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). On special teams, Garcon returned two punts, the second came in the fourth quarter with the Nation losing 41-7. He fielded the punt at the opponents’ 38 yard line and went sideline-to-sideline, eluding tacklers, for 62 yards and the touchdown. However, Texas won the game 41-14 with both scores for the Nation coming on special teams.

The game attracted 26,821 fans at the Sun Bowl, including a number of scouts and NFL representatives. The contest was also broadcast on CSTV and will re-air periodically between now and the NFL Draft on April 26-27.
