With the 36th pick of the sixth round (pick 205) in the 2008 NFL draft, the Indianapolis Colts selected Mount Union wide reciever Pierre Garcon (West Palm Beach, FL/Leonard).

Garcon becomes Mount Union's first modern day player to be selected in the NFL draft.  Mount Union's Vince Marotta was drafted by the New York Giants in 1948.  Marotta was selected in the 26th round (pick 236) as a back.

Garcon is Mount Union's all-time leader in receptions with 202 and the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) career leader in touchdown catches with 47.  During his final season at Mount Union, he earned D3football.com First-Team All America honors and the OAC's Ed Sherman Award winner as the conference's top reciever for the second consecutive season.  Garcon finished his collegiate career (both Mount Union and Norwich) with 246 receptions for 4,380 yards (17.3 ypc) and 65 total touchdowns.
