Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Teams Edged Out By Westminster (PA) in Regular Season Finale

Taylor Harrison won a pair of events for Mount Union against Westminster Sunday.
(ALLIANCE,OH) - Mount Union Men's and Women's swimming and diving teams swam strong but fell short against Westminster Sunday at Hammond Natatorium. The men's team fell 161-128 while the women lost 163-135.

Taylor Harrison(New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia) led the women's team with two wins in both the 100-yard and 200-yard Backstroke (2:16.13). Sarah Noble(Copley/Copley) also won the 200-Yard Butterfly (2:21.02) for the Raiders.

The women's diving swept Westminster, with Mary Vallinger(Poland/Poland Seminary) taking the win with a score of  228.25. Men's diver Tom Pellet(Newark/Newark Catholic) also scored a win for the Raiders with a score of 190.65

On the men's side junior Matt Carlozzi (Canfield/Canfield) won the 200 Freestyle (1:48.36) while freshman Rob Brocious (Mentor/Mentor) won the 1650 Freestyle (17:16.73). The men's 400-Yard Freestyle relay team closed the meet with their best time of the year (3:16.54) and a win.

Mount Union next competes Feb. 18-20 at the OAC Championships at the University of Akron.
