Men's Tennis Blanks The Berg to Move to Semifinals of OAC Tournament
(NORTH CANTON, OH)--Top seeded Mount Union College scored a 5-0 win over No. 8 seed Heidelberg University in the quarterfinals of the 2009 Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament Tuesday at the North Canton Racquet Club in North Canton, OH.
Mount Union wins its 13th straight match and moves 18-4 overall. The Purple Raiders advance to the semifinals against the winner of a quarterfinal between No. 4 seed Baldwin-Wallace and No. 5 seed Capital Friday at 1 pm at the Lindner Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
Heidelberg finishes its season with a 3-9 record.
Mount Union swept through the doubles matches highlighted by an 8-0 at No. 1 doubles by Zach Perry (Hudson/Hudson) and Grant Aronson (Beachwood/Beachwood).
Perry would get a win at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-0) along with Alex Kearney (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) at No. 6 singles (6-0, 6-0) to end the match.
