Mount Union Tracksters Compete at Gregory Invitational at North Central

Members of the Mount Union College men's and women's track teams competed at the two-day Gregory Invitational hosted by North Central College in Naperville, IL. The meet was nonscored.

On Friday, senior Mike Lemponen (Eastlake/North) finished fifth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 53.80. Senior Matt Dawson (Painesville/Riverside) won the shot put with a throw of 53-08.50.  Sophomore Judd Lutz (Bloomville/Columbian) was second with a throw of 53-00.00.

On the women's side, sophomore Aubrey Loy (Canal Fulton/Jackson) finished eighth in the long jump with a distance of 17-02.25.

Mount Union will next compete at the NCAA Div. III Nationals in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on May 22-24.

Thursday's Highlights

Members of the Mount Union College men's and women's track teams are competing at the two-day Gregory Invitational hosted by North Central College in Naperville, IL. The meet is nonscored.

Thursday's highlights included sophomore Judd Lutz (Bloomville/Columbian) winning the discus with a throw of 160-08. Senior Pat Nicholson (Brookpark/Holy Name) came in second in the discus with a 159-00 while senior Dan Gund (Madison) came in fourth (158-07).

On the women's side, senior Louise Thoma (Alliance/St. Thomas Aquinas) finished in a tie for second in the pole vault with a height of 11-07.  Also, freshman Annie Patton  (Darlington/Blackhawk) was second in the javelin with a throw of 132-06.
