Mount Union's Wrestling Team Finishes Sixth At OAC Championships

At 125 pounds, freshman Jeremy Lookabaugh (New Kensington, Pa/Valley) went 0-2 in the OAC Championships. On the year, Lookabaugh finished 2-6 at 125 pounds.
At 133 pounds, freshman Kyle Jordan (Ravenna) went 1-2. On the year, Jordan finished with a 5-19 record including 2 of those wins being by pin fall.
Freshman Shawn O'Neill (Atwater) competed for the Purple and White at 141 pounds. He went 2-1 on the day losing in the semifinals to John Carroll's Dominic Spitalieri by major decision. O'Neill then went on to defeat Baldwin-Wallaces' Eric Schubert 9-2 to pick up a third place finish in the tournament. For the season, Shawn finished 15-11 with 2 pin fall wins.
Also finishing in third place with a 2-1 mark was sophomore Sean Dreger (Alliance) at 149 pounds. Dreger's wins came over Wilmington's Mark Sedziol (pin) and Jeffrey Sommers (7-3) from Ohio Northern. Dreger finished the season with a 15-11 record, including 3 pins for the Purple Raiders.
At 157 pounds, freshman Robert Creatore (Boardman) finished 0-2. For the season, Creatore finished with a record of 8-19.
Sophomore Mike Manypenny (Salem) competed for the Raiders at 165 pounds. He went 1-2 on the day. Manypenny's only win came against Wilmington's Anthony Muscaro 8-6. He finished with a total record of 14-13 on the year, including 2 wins by pin.
At 174 pounds, sophomore Tim Campbell (Sulpher Springs/ Bucyrus) finished 0-2. Campbell finished for the season at a mark of 1-13.
At 184 pounds, senior Nicholas Allerding (Loudonville) was earned All-Conference as he finished Runner-Up going 2-1 on the day. Allerding defeated Ohio Northern's Andrew Swick by pin and Baldwin-Wallace's Andrew Scavuzzo 7-3 before losing in the finals to Ben Adams of John Carroll, 6-4. For the season, Allerding was 13-4 with 2 wins by pin after returning from injury mid-season. Allerding finished his career with three consecutive 2nd place finishes at the OAC Championships.
Senior Adam Lange (Hudson) wrestled at 197 pounds and finished 0-2 on the day. For the year, Adam finished with a 11-12 record to finish out his career at Mount Union.
At Heavyweight, Freshman Ike Okoli (Columbia,SC,Brookland Cayce) finished 1-2. His lone win came against Baldwin-Wallace's Arlon Brister 9-1. On the season he was 1-4.
Heidelberg (99.5 points) won the OAC Team Championship followed by John Carroll (88.5 points), Ohio Northern (48.5 points), Baldwin Wallace (41.5 points), Muskingum (37.5 points), Mount Union and Wilmington (17 points).
As a team Mount Union finished 3-13 overall.
