Mount Union’s Ellie Geiger Earns Academic All-OAC Honors

Mount Union College senior/point guard Ellie Geiger (Beloit/West Branch) earned 2007-08 Women’s Basketball Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Honorable-Mention status, as announced by the Conference Office on Tuesday, March 11.

Geiger, a sociology major with a 3.24 grade point average, has played in 105 career games as a Purple Raider, and started 26-of-27 games for the Purple and White this past season.  She led the team in minutes played (26.7 per game), and ranked second on the team in both steals and assists.  Her 4.5 ppg ranked sixth on a team that featured a rotation consisting of 11-12 players.

Geiger was a four-year starter and letterwinner who has also served as a team co-captain.

Overall, Mount Union finished the year 10-17, 6-12 in the OAC, and tied for third at the OAC Tournament.
