Overtime Goal Gives Women's Soccer First Win

(ALLIANCE, OH)-Junior Amy Greiner (Willoughby Hills/Willoughby South) was in the right place at the right time as she knocked in a free kick from senior Jenn Scrimenti (Highland Heights/Gilmour Academy) with less than a minute to play in the first overtime to give Mount Union College a 1-0 women's soccer win over Albion (MI) College Sunday at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance, Ohio.

Junior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Mallernee (Dover/Dover) had 15 saves to keep the Purple Raiders in the game as Albion held a 23-13 lead in shots.

The win makes Mount Union 1-4-1 overall on the season, while Albion falls to 2-3 overall.

Mount Union continues a four-game homestand Saturday, Sept. 20, at noon against Case Western Reserve University.
