Duignan and Negrelli Earn Softball Academic All-OAC Honors
Mount Union College senior/outfielder Erin Duignan (Green) and senior/utility Lee Negrelli (Mentor) were named to the Softball Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Team, announced the OAC Office on Monday, May 19.
Duignan recently finished her academic career with a degree in Athletic Training and a 3.84 grade point average. On the field, Duignan finished her career with a .349 career batting average and a team record 120 career runs batted in. In 2008 she hit .318 with 16 doubles and 34 RBI.
Negrelli finished her academic career with a degree in Sport Management and a 3.61 grade point average. Negrelli posted a .389 batting average and a team-best 12 stolen bases in 2008.
To be eligible for Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least her second year of participation in the sport.
Overall, Mount Union (38-10) finished the season with a team record 38 wins to go along with its first OAC Tournament title.
