Annie Patton Named Academic All-District IV Women's Track & Field

Annie Patton is a two-time All-American in the javelin.
(DELAWARE, OH)--Mount Union College sophomore Annie Patton (Darlington, PA/Blackhawk) was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Women's Track & Field Second Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Patton was Ohio Athletic Conference champion in the javelin and finished fifth in the nation at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships for a second straight year.  Off the track, she holds a 3.97 grade point average with a major in exercise science and is involved in the Mount Union College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

To be selected Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve with at least a 3.30 grade point average.  Academic All-District First Team selections advance to the national Academic All-American ballot.  Sports Information Directors within a district vote for the Academic All-District teams with members of the CoSIDA Academic All-American committee voting on the national ballot.  District IV includes every NCAA Division II, III and NAIA institution in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.
