John Homon

John Homon, who is in his 28th season as Mount Union's men's cross country and track & field coach this fall, has won more Ohio Athletic Conference Championships (47) than any coach in conference history.

In 2005-06, Homon's teams captured three OAC titles, including the 2005 men's cross country crown, 2006 men's indoor track title, and 2006 men's outdoor championship.

In 2005-06, he and his assistants earned men's OAC cross country coaching staff of the year honors, men's OAC indoor track coaching staff of the year recognition, and men's OAC outdoor track coaching staff of the year status.

During the track season of 2006, he was named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Collegiate Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) men's outdoor track Division III coach of the year.

His impressive resume includes 11 cross country, 19 indoor and 17 outdoor conference crowns, as well as numerous top-10 finishes at the Division III Nationals.

Homon graduated with a bachelor's degree in physical education from the University of Massachusetts in 1972. While at Massachusetts, Homon lettered two years in the shot put and discus. In 1979, he received his master's in physical education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
