Coaches
Mark Hawald Mark Hawald is in his second season at the helm of the Mount Union College wrestling program. Hawald, a native of Solon, Ohio, served as an assistant coach at Notre Dame College (OH), prior to Mount Union. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from John Carroll University in May of 2005 and a master’s in business administration from John Carroll in 2007. As a four-year letter winner at 174 pounds at John Carroll, Hawald became the Blue Streaks’ all-time wrestling leader in career wins (122), was a four-time Ohio Athletic Conference Champion and a 2004 NCAA Division III All-American. Off the mat he earned Academic All-American honors three times and was John Carroll’s OAC Clyde Lamb Award winner in 2005, in recognition as the institution’s top male student-athlete. In addition to coaching at Mount Union, Mark is also an instructor in the Department of Economics, Accounting, and Business Administration. |

Rich Eslich Rich Eslich is in his second year as an assistant wrestling coach at Mount Union College. Eslich was a two-time Ohio Athletic Conference champion and two time NCAA Divsion III All-American at John Carroll University. He placed fourth in 1998 and was the NCAA Division III National Champion in 1999 with a perfect 29-0 record that season. He has a bachelor's degree in English and he and his wife Katie have two daughters, Isabelle and Laynee. |

Adam Lange Adam Lange moves from the mat to the bench in his first season as an assistant coach at Mount Union College. Lange was a four-year letterwinner for the Purple Raiders competing at 184 and 197 pounds. He placed second at the 2007 Washington & Jefferson Open and third at the 2007 Ohio Athletic Conferencec Championships at 184 pounds. Lange is a 2008 Mount Union graduate with a bachelor's degree as he majored in sport business and minored in business. |
