Sept. 1-2 Mount Union Invitational...day one results included Mount Union earning pool play victories against Allegheny (15-8, 15-3, 15-4) and Wilmington (15-2, 15-5, 15-3)...day two results had the Raiders post a third pool play win over Carnegie Mellon (16-14, 15-0, 15-13), a semi-final tournament victory against Westminster (15-2, 15-6, 9-15, 15-9) and a championship match win against Siena Heights (15-7, 15-8, 16-14)...the All-Tournament Team included Mandy Bowser (Mount Union), Kelly Roach (Mount Union), Jen VonDeylen (Mount Union), Lavren Schmidt (Carnegie Mellon), Tanya Toska (Siena Heights), Meredith Etcher (Westminster), Amy Smith (Siena Heights) and Sarah Verhoff (Westminster)...Mount Union opens the season in impressive fashion going 5-0 and winning 15 of 16 games overall in capturing the Raider Volleyball Invitational Championship.

Sept. 8-9 at Allegheny Invitational...day one results included Mount Union earning victories against Penn State-Behrend(15-9, 15-11, 15-14) and Westminster (14-16, 15-12, 15-11, 15-3)...Day two results had the Purple Raiders beating Muskingum(11-15, 15-4, 16-14, 15-13) and Otterbein in the championship game(15-9, 15-3, 15-1).

Sept. 15-16 at John Carroll Invitational... day one results included Mount Union earning victories against Hanover (15-11, 15-4, 15-6) and Alma (15-7, 15-10, 12-15, 15-6)...day two results had the Purple Raiders defeating Denison (15-7, 15-10, 15-11) and losing to Ithaca in the semi-final match (14-16, 17-15, 8-15, 15-10, 15-17)...(record: 14-1, 1-0 OAC)

Sept. 29-30 at Wittenberg Invitational...Mount Union loses to Wittenburg (15-11, 8-15, 15-11, 9-15, 13-15)...defeated Case Western (15-11, 11-15, 16-18, 15-9, 15-10) and Ithaca (15-3, 15-11, 15-7)...lost to Ohio Northern (10-15, 7-15, 2-15)...Melissa Wolpert was named to the all-tournament team.
