Coaches
Leigh Ann Matesich Leigh Ann Matesich hopes her third season is a charm as the head volleyball coach at Mount Union College. In her first two seasons she has quickly shaped the Purple Raiders into one of the top teams in the Ohio Athletic Conference and the region. Matesich came to Mount Union from Miami (Ohio) University, where she spent the past two seasons as a volleyball graduate assistant coach (2004) and a volleyball administrative assistant (2005). She was a volleyball assistant recruitment coordinator at DePauw (Ind.) University in 2003, a women’s basketball student assistant coach at DePauw in 2003-04 and a women’s basketball coaching intern at Denison University in 2002. A 2004 graduate of DePauw with undergraduate degrees in communications and kinesiology, Matesich also earned her master’s in sports studies from Miami University in 2005. She was a three-year volleyball letterwinner at DePauw (2001-03) and a varsity letterwinner in volleyball and basketball at Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College in 2000-01. Matesich, a native of Newark, Ohio, is a 2000 graduate of Newark Catholic High School. |

Erin Foster Erin Foster, a native of Shelby, Ohio, enters her third year as Mount Union College’s assistant volleyball coach and athletic department recruiting assistant for the 2008-2009 academic year. Foster, a four-year letter winner of the Division I volleyball program at Cleveland State University, graduated in 2004 with Bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Marketing. Foster spent the past two years as Marketing Coordinator for Velocity Sports Performance in Mayfield Village, OH working with student athletes in the in the Cleveland area. In addition, she also coached for five years (2003-07) as the varsity assistant at Chagrin Falls High School. During that time, Chagrin Falls won its first conference title in 2005. Foster was in charge of the program’s pre-season scheduling, training regiment and was Chagrin Falls’ co-camp director for all summer programs. Foster is currently a member of the USAV Women’s Open Volleyball Team and is actively involved playing the Ohio Beach Volleyball Circuit. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration at Kent State University, and resides in Alliance. |

Jan Kehres
Jan Kehres is in her first season as an assistant volleyball coach at Mount Union College. Kehres just completed at stellar playing career at Wittenberg University. As an outside hitter, Kehres was an All-North Coast Athletic Conference first team and All-Great Lakes region selection that helped lead the Tigers to a 38-1 season an appearance in the NCAA Tournament national semifinals in 2007. The three-year team captain finished her playing career among the school’s all-time leaders in kills and digs. The Alliance, OH, native, graduated from Wittenberg this past May with a bachelors degree in Biology. |
