Originally built in 1950, the library was renovated and expanded as part of the Kolenbrander-Harter Information Center project in 2000. The Mount Union College Library offers more than 230,000 books in open stacks, more than 900 current journal titles, and more than 350,000 federal government publications. Access to a wide range of databases and electronic full-text products, including more than 5,000 full-text journal titles, is available via the campus network and remotely via the internet. The library is part of the Ohio Private Academic Libraries (OPAL), a 21 library consortium, and also is a member of OhioLINK , through which our users may borrow from over 80 Ohio academic libraries.
In addition the KHIC provides over 450 study seats, numerous group study rooms, 4 computer labs, and 25 library public computers. Reference, circulation, and interlibrary loan services are available on the main floor. The campus Writing Center and the Faculty Lounge are located on the second floor of the library. The 24 hour space, located in the new KHIC lobby, offers overnight access to study space, 3 computer labs, and a snack bar. These facilities share the KHIC with classrooms and faculty offices providing a fully integrated learning center.
