Why did you choose to pursue your degree?
I chose criminal justice because I have always been interested in law enforcement and analyzing the criminal mind. Learning about different crimes, understanding why people turn to crime and learning ways to prevent crime have always intrigued me.
What types of jobs are available for students who share your major?
There are many jobs available in this field, including law enforcement, corrections, security and government jobs, just to name a few.
How will you use your degree upon graduation?
After graduation I plan to use my degree to obtain a job at a local law enforcement agency.

What elements should a person possess in order to succeed in your major?
A student should possess a curious mind; always wanting to know more and understanding why crime happens in order to find ways to prevent it. They should also be very open-minded because there is a lot of change and uncertainty within the field.
What advice can you offer for someone who is considering having the same major as you?
Think about why you really want to pursue this major and talk to Dr. Stevens because she is extremely knowledgeable and can provide you with all the information you could want regarding this field.
In addition, the classes within this major are very interesting and worthwhile.
